NDRC Holds Dialogue with Chinese Enterprises in Malaysia

On October 21, 2024, Xu Jianping, Director of the Department of Regional Opening-Up at the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), led a delegation to Kuala Lumpur to convene a dialogue with Chinese enterprises in Malaysia. Co-organized with the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia and the China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (CECCM), the meeting aimed to understand the operations of Chinese enterprises in Malaysia and provide support for high-quality Belt and Road construction.

Counsellor Li Sa from the Chinese Embassy chaired the meeting, providing a brief overview of Malaysia’s economic development and recognizing the vital role Chinese enterprises play in local economic growth. She also expressed appreciation for the NDRC’s longstanding guidance and support for Chinese businesses in Malaysia.

Senior officials from the NDRC’s Department of Regional Opening-Up and CECCM board members also participated in the dialogue.)

During the session, Director Xu engaged in in-depth discussions with enterprise representatives, actively listening to their views and suggestions regarding the Belt and Road. He acknowledged the achievements of Chinese enterprises in Malaysia and introduced the “Four Principles” of Collaboration, Practicality, Perception, and Vision. He encouraged enterprises to continue serving as bridges for bilateral cooperation and to promote sustainable and healthy development in Malaysia.
