On 28 August 2026, the CECCM in Northern Malaysia Working Committee successfully organised a badminton friendly tournament in Penang under the theme “Shuttle Together, Shape the Future.”
The event was held with the guidance and support of the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Penang and sponsored by China Harbour Engineering Company, China Communications Construction Company and JAC Motors Malaysia. More than 100 players from member companies took part in the tournament.
Throughout the competition, players demonstrated determination, teamwork and sportsmanship through powerful smashes, coordinated plays and resilient defence, reflecting the positive spirit of employees of Chinese enterprises in Northern Malaysia.
As member companies are often focused on their respective operations and projects, opportunities for interaction can be limited. The tournament provided participants with an opportunity to deepen mutual understanding, strengthen connections and build closer ties through friendly competition. As participants noted, there may be winners and losers in a match, but friendship has no ranking.
In recent years, more Chinese enterprises have established and expanded their presence in Northern Malaysia, increasing the need for stronger communication and cooperation among companies. As an important bridge among its members, the CECCM in Northern Malaysia Working Committee will continue to organise diverse exchange activities and promote resource sharing, information exchange and mutually beneficial cooperation.
The tournament showcased not only competitive spirit and friendship, but also the confidence and collective strength of Chinese enterprises in Northern Malaysia as they move forward together.
