On 28 September, the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia held a reception celebrating the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the farewell of H.E. Ouyang Yujing, Ambassador of China in Malaysia.
Ambassador Ouyang introduced the achievements of New China and delivered his farewell remarks. Malaysia’s Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, delivered a toast on behalf of the Malaysian Government to congratulate China on the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
President of the Senate Dato’ Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah, Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat Tan Sri Dr Johari Abdul, Minister of Transport Anthony Loke, and President of the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong) Dato’ Lim Kah Chuan also delivered remarks. They spoke highly of China’s development achievements, recognised Ambassador Ouyang’s efforts in promoting Malaysia-China friendship, and expressed their hope that both sides would continue to work together and deepen cooperation.
Diplomats from the Chinese Embassy, Tianjin Conservatory of Music and AgiBot presented performances during the reception.
The event was attended by more than 1,200 guests, including Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu; Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh; Director-General of the Malaysian Defence Intelligence Organisation Lieutenant General Datuk Fazal Abdul Rahman; representatives of the Chinese community and various sectors; members of the diplomatic corps in Malaysia; overseas Chinese; representatives of Chinese enterprises; and Chinese students in Malaysia.
The President and representatives of CECCM Vice President companies were invited to attend the reception.
