On 28 September, the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia held a reception celebrating the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and bidding farewell to H.E. Ambassador Ouyang Yujing.
In his remarks, Ambassador Ouyang reviewed the achievements of the People’s Republic of China over the past 77 years. He noted that China has embarked on a new journey of building a strong country and advancing national rejuvenation through Chinese modernisation, while continuing to pursue high-quality development and expand high-standard opening-up.
Ambassador Ouyang said that during his nearly six-year tenure, he had witnessed “three major leaps” in China-Malaysia relations and fruitful results in bilateral economic and trade cooperation. He expressed his appreciation for the support from various sectors and wished for further achievements in building a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future.
Malaysia’s Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, delivered a toast on behalf of the Malaysian Government to congratulate China on the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. President of the Senate Dato’ Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah, Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat Tan Sri Dr. Johari Abdul, Minister of Transport Anthony Loke Siew Fook, and President of the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong) Dato’ Lim Kah Chuan also delivered remarks. They spoke highly of China’s development achievements, recognised Ambassador Ouyang’s efforts in promoting Malaysia-China friendship, and expressed their hope that both sides would continue to work together and deepen cooperation.
Diplomats from the Chinese Embassy, Tianjin Conservatory of Music and AgiBot presented performances during the reception.
More than 1,200 guests attended the reception, including Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh Tseow Suan, Director-General of the Malaysian Defence Intelligence Organisation Lieutenant General Dato’ Fazal Abdul Rahman, representatives of the Chinese community and various sectors, foreign envoys to Malaysia, as well as representatives of Chinese nationals, Chinese enterprises and Chinese students in Malaysia.
The reception was held in a solemn yet warm atmosphere. The CECCM President and representatives of several Vice President were invited to attend and listened to the remarks delivered by Ambassador Ouyang and other guests. Following the reception, CECCM leaders and representatives of Chinese enterprises took a group photo with Ambassador Ouyang, paying tribute to his dedication and contributions over the past six years in promoting Malaysia-China friendship, deepening bilateral economic and trade cooperation, and supporting the development of Chinese enterprises in Malaysia.
Over six years of dedicated service, Ambassador Ouyang has helped build bridges of friendship between China and Malaysia. On the occasion of his departure, the China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia extends its sincere respect and best wishes to Ambassador Ouyang Yujing.
