On 20 August 2026, Geng Hao, Chair of the Women Entrepreneurs Working Committee of the China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (CECCM), together with several member representatives, attended the “Talent, Innovation and Competitiveness” Business Roundtable Forum, jointly organised by MIT and Asia School of Business. The forum focused on talent development, business innovation and economic competitiveness in the era of artificial intelligence.
Moderated by Professor Joseph Cherian, Dean of Asia School of Business, the forum featured Dr. Melissa Nobles of MIT as guest speaker. Discussions covered education and talent development in the AI era, technological innovation and competitiveness, climate risks and population ageing, as well as the impact of AI on future business models and talent needs.
Participants noted that rapid advances in AI are reshaping both talent requirements and the way businesses compete. Developing talent with continuous learning, critical thinking and innovation capabilities, while strengthening risk management and responsible innovation, will be increasingly important for long-term competitiveness.
The CECCM Women Entrepreneurs Working Committee actively organised its members to participate in the forum. Representatives from the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Mobile, China Telecom, Sinotrans, Xiamen Airlines, Pinko Logistics, JLS Advisory and other companies attended the event and exchanged views with fellow participants.
The forum provided members with an opportunity to better understand the latest trends in AI, talent development and innovation, while strengthening exchanges between Chinese enterprises and Malaysia’s business, academic and professional communities.
The Women Entrepreneurs Working Committee will continue to organise high-quality learning and exchange activities focusing on business development and women’s leadership, while promoting experience sharing, resource connectivity and practical cooperation.
