10th anniversary grand party held to celebrate China - Malaysia “two countries, twin parks”

 

On 7th April 2023, China Entreprises Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (hereafter referred to CECCM) as a support unit cooperate with Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Pahang State Government to launch ceremony of “Invest in China Year” (Embracing ASEAN) , and held a grand celebration of the 10th anniversary of China – Malaysia “Two countries, Twin parks”at Kuantan. This event was held to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the China-Malaysia Kuantan Industrial Park established, meanwhile, stand ready to further expand and deepen cooperation between the both countries, exploit the strengths of economy and trades, further deepen the cooperation and friendship in various fields. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Malaysia, Ouyang Yujing, Chief Ministry of Pahang, Dato’ Sri Haji Wan Rosdy bin Wan Ismail, Ministry of transport Malaysia, YB Loke Siew Fook,  presented and gave a speech on the event. Minister Counsellor of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia, Mdm. Zhang Peidong, Liew Chin Tong, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry also attended. Zhang Min, Chairman of CECCM representing CECCM gave a speech on the event. 

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Malaysia, Ouyang Yujing indicated that “Two countries, Two parks” is a major cooperation project between China – Malaysia. After 10 years of development,  the industry continuously expands and grows rapidly providing several opportunities to both countries. He also said the event’s purpose of the Invest in China Year “Embracing ASEAN” at Kuantan is important to expand the opening of Malaysia and Asean. China expects that more enterprises from Malaysia will grab the chance to cooperate.

Chief Ministry of Pahang, Dato’ Sri Haji Wan Rosdy bin Wan Ismail indicated that the launching ceremony and the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the “Two Countries, Two Parks” between China and Malaysia – the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park, is an important achievement of the both way economic cooperation between Malaysia and China. The government of Pahang hopes the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park could attract more investors, to provide working chances for Pahang people and promote local economic development. The Pahang State Government is committed to cooperating with the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park and related parties to continue to explore and develop new development areas, it also plays a greater role through the efforts of both parties.

Ministry of transport Malaysia, YB Loke Siew Fook indicated the development of the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park in the past 10 years is a testament to the strong economic ties between the both countries. The development of transportation infrastructure is the key factor for the success of the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park. The Malaysian government will be committed to further improving transportation infrastructure to support the development of the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park and other economic zones in Malaysia, and to explore new opportunities for regional cooperation and investment with Chinese companies.

Liu Ning, Secretary of the Party Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region said in his speech, this event with the theme of sharing opportunities, seeking common development, and jointly creating a bright future of openness and prosperity will build a platform for investment docking between Malaysia and China, which will inject new impetus into deepening practical cooperation between the both countries and create new opportunities. Guangxi is actively serving and integrating into the new development pattern, striving to create a convenient place for domestic and international dual-cycle market operations, and striving to build the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park into the “first stop” for Malaysian-funded enterprises to invest and develop in China. More Malaysian entrepreneurs are welcome to visit China and Guangxi to explore business opportunities for cooperation and achieve mutual benefit and common development.

Zhang Min, chairman of CECCM shared the important role of financial services in the economic and trade relations between China and Malaysia. He indicated that with the implementation of the new investment policy, bilateral economic and trade will surely be full of more vitality and opportunities. In the past three years, the number of chambers of commerce has increased from 115 to 279, reflecting the vigorous development of economic and trade exchanges between China and Malaysia. 

Taking the opportunity of the 10th anniversary of China-Malaysia “Two Countries, Two Parks” – Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park, this event aims to deepen the industrial cooperation between China and Malaysia “Two Countries, Two Parks”, and has facilitated 17 on-site signings and Carry out cooperation projects, covering non-ferrous metals and recycled metals trade and production, cross-border logistics operations and cold chain cooperation, clean energy and new energy development, environmentally friendly new materials and other fields.

The event festival included Kuantan Port –  North bay harbour – China Sichuan-Chongqing multimodal transport route. The opening ceremony and the unveiling ceremony of the Kuantan Distribution Center of the New International Land-Sea Trade Channel and the upgrade and expansion of the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park and the commencement ceremony of major projects.
