CECCM Attends the Reception of the China Embassy in Malaysia to Celebrate the 96th Anniversary of China's Army Day

On July 31, 2023, the China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (CECCM) attended the reception of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia (Chinese Embassy in Malaysia) in the Ballroom of Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, to celebrate the 96th anniversary of China’s Army Day. President of CECCM, Zhang Min, led fewer members to attend the reception. China Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Malaysia, Ouyang Yujing, Principal of China People’s Liberation Army National Defence University, Xiao Tianliang, commander of the Malaysian Army Forces, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (DR.) Hj. Affendi Bin Hj. Buang, Minister of Transport Loke Siu Fook, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Dato’ Seri Teo Keng Sin, representatives of Malaysia Armed Forces, Chinese-funded institutions, and Chinese students, roughly more than 600 participants are participating in this reception.

The reception started with the national anthems of China and Malaysia, Defense Attaché of the China Embassy in Malaysia, Zhang Ge, gave a speech. He said that China’s Army continuously established 96 years of immortal feats for the nation’s independence, the liberation of the people, and the country’s prosperity. The army contributes peace and harmony to the world. He also pointed out that next year will be the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia. The two countries will deepen exchanges and cooperation and jointly contribute to the nationalities of China and Malaysia.

Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (DR.) Hj. Affendi Bin Hj. Buang, commander of the Malaysian Army Forces, commented on the relationship between China and Malaysia. He hopes both sides will cooperate more and actively consolidate bilateral relations and regional peace. The reception ended successfully in a joyful atmosphere. The participants wish China’s Army a happy 96th anniversary, world peace and social well-being.
