Back in November 2017, CECCM had joined hands with its members to raise RM350,000 to aid the Penang floods where RM200,000 was donated to the Malaysian National Security Council and RM150,000 to the Nanyang Press Foundation. CECCM lifeboat donation campaign is intended to help the flood victims to escape from the floods in time. He said that this year marks the 48th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China and the 20th anniversary of the CECCM’s establishment. He hoped that Chinese enterprises in Malaysia would play a more active role in the future to help each other and build a better home of unity and prosperity for both countries.

Minister & Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia, Mr. Tang Rui praised CECCM for its effort and generosity. He said that CECCM’s ability to act as a bridge for Chinese enterprises and to rally the generosity of its members to contribute to the flood relief efforts fully demonstrates the commitment and good image of Chinese enterprises in fulfilling their social responsibilities. He also said that Malacca has been an important trade location between China and Malaysia since long ago where it has played a pivotal role in the promotion and development of the “One Belt and One Road” initiatives. Therefore, the donation ceremony in Malacca also has a very special historical significance. He noted that more and more Chinese companies are investing in Malacca, bringing innovative technology and a new era of prosperity to Malaysia. He encouraged Chinese companies to continue to strengthen their cooperation with Malaysian communities to create a brighter future for both countries.
