On 4 June 2026, the Cross-Border Legal Intensive Training For Chinese Enterprises In Malaysia, organised by Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill (LHAG) and co-organised by CECCM, was successfully held at the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) in Kuala Lumpur. Mr. Ni Qingjiu, President of CECCM, attended the event and delivered opening remarks.

In his remarks, Mr. Ni Qingjiu noted that economic and trade cooperation between Malaysia and China has continued to deepen in recent years. Numerous Chinese enterprises have established a strong presence in Malaysia across sectors such as infrastructure development, advanced manufacturing, cross-border trade, and financial services, making positive contributions to the country’s economic growth and industrial upgrading.
He highlighted that Malaysia’s mature legal framework and favourable business environment provide an important foundation for the sustainable development of Chinese enterprises. At the same time, he stressed that legal compliance is essential for companies operating across borders. He encouraged participating enterprises to make full use of the learning opportunity, gain a deeper understanding of local legal and regulatory requirements, strengthen their compliance systems, and enhance their ability to identify and mitigate cross-border risks.

The training was delivered by the senior China Desk team of LHAG and provided comprehensive insights into key legal issues relevant to Chinese enterprises investing and operating in Malaysia. Topics covered included investment, mergers and acquisitions, financing, tax compliance, dispute resolution, and contract management. The programme also highlighted best practices in contract administration and dispute prevention.
During the session, participating enterprise representatives actively engaged in discussions and exchanged views with the LHAG legal team on practical legal issues arising from their business operations. The training was well received by attendees for its practical content and strong relevance to the needs of enterprises operating across borders.

Ms. Wong Wai Chin, Partner of Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill, attended the event.
