
On 25 May 2026, the Construction Industry Working Committee and the Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM) held a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony. The signing marked a significant step in strengthening exchanges and cooperation between the construction industries of Malaysia and China, while promoting closer engagement between member companies in areas such as industry development, professional exchange, and capacity building.



Mr. Sun Shuqiang, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia; Mr. Ng Sieng Chyn, President of MBAM; and Mr. Ni Qingjiu, President of CECCM, attended the ceremony and delivered remarks. Mr. Sun expressed his hope that both parties would take the signing of the MOU as an opportunity to further strengthen exchanges and mutual learning, deepen practical cooperation, and jointly promote the high-quality development of the construction industries in both countries.


Following the remarks, Mr. Ng Sieng Chyn and Mr. Ding Qian, Chairman of the Construction Industry Working Committee, formally signed the MOU on behalf of their respective organisations. The signing was witnessed by Mr. Sun Shuqiang, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia; Mr. Liu Hao, Executive Committee Member of the Construction Industry Working Committee; and Mr. John Tong, Honorary Legal Adviser of MBAM.
Under the MOU, both parties will continue to strengthen cooperation in industry exchanges, business collaboration, and information sharing, while further enhancing a platform for communication and cooperation between the Malaysian and Chinese construction sectors.


Also in attendance at the signing ceremony were representatives from Executive Committee member companies of the Construction Industry Working Committee, including CHEC Construction (M) Sdn Bhd, CICET (M) Corporation Sdn Bhd, China Railway Engineering Corporation (M) Sdn Bhd, and MCC Overseas (M) Sdn Bhd. Other distinguished guests included Mr. Lui Chee Fong, President of the Malaysia Lorry Crane Owners Association; Mr. Raymond Lai, President of the Chartered Institute of Building Malaysia (CIOB Malaysia); Mr. Lee Han Koon, President of the Pertubuhan Industri Fasad Malaysia (PIFM); Mr. Tee Sang Choy, President of the Malaysian Institute of Interior Improvement Partners (MIIP); Mr. Lim Wei Hao, Chairman of the Malaysian Glass Association; as well as representatives from MBAM.
