On 7 April 2026, the China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (CECCM) and Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) jointly hosted a Business Networking Session in Kuala Lumpur.
The session brought together representatives from a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, logistics and supply chain, ICT and digital technology, renewable energy and green technology, automotive and engineering services, tourism and hospitality, entrepreneurship development and training, as well as food and beverage. The event served as a valuable platform to strengthen engagement and collaboration between MARA-supported local enterprises and Chinese enterprises in Malaysia.

The event was attended and addressed by Mr. Sun Shuqing, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia; YBhg. Datuk Wira Dr. Asyraf Wajdi bin Dato’ Dusuki, Chairman of MARA; YBhg. Dato’ Zulfikri bin Osman, Director General of MARA; and Mr. Li Zhiqiang, Vice President of CECCM.

In his remarks, Mr. Sun highlighted the strong foundation and promising prospects of China–Malaysia economic and trade cooperation. He noted that Chinese enterprises have actively contributed to Malaysia’s development in areas such as infrastructure, digital economy, green energy, and advanced manufacturing, supporting connectivity, industrial upgrading, and job creation. He also emphasized the importance of corporate social responsibility and encouraged enterprises to integrate into local communities while pursuing sustainable development.
Datuk Wira Dr. Asyraf Wajdi bin Dato’ Dusuki introduced MARA’s mission and key focus areas. As an agency under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, MARA has long been committed to advancing socio-economic development through education, entrepreneurship, and investment. To date, MARA has produced over 1.8 million graduates and supported more than 1.3 million entrepreneurs. He also highlighted MARA’s growing international collaborations, including partnerships with Chinese institutions in areas such as artificial intelligence, green energy, and technical and vocational education, as well as initiatives like the “Gate to Global” programme to support local enterprises in accessing international markets.
Mr. Li Zhiqiang shared an overview of CECCM, noting that since its establishment in 2002, the Chamber has grown to over 450 member companies across sectors such as infrastructure, manufacturing, trade, ICT, logistics, real estate, and energy. CECCM continues to play an active role in promoting bilateral economic cooperation, facilitating business exchanges, and supporting corporate social responsibility initiatives.

During the session, MARA Director General Dato’ Zulfikri bin Osman presented MARA’s ecosystem and development initiatives. Representatives from Shandong Lanhua Group (Malaysia) and the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project by China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) also shared their business experiences and operational insights in Malaysia.

The event concluded with a token exchange ceremony between both parties.
The session was attended by CECCM leadership, including Vice President Zhou Dan, Treasurer Yang Zhijun, and council members Cheng Ling, Gao Huabin, and Liu Hao, as well as representatives from Bank of China (Malaysia), Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Malaysia), China Construction Bank (Malaysia), Huawei Technologies (Malaysia), CGN EDRA Power Holdings, China Mobile International (Malaysia), China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (Malaysia), MARA council members, and nearly 100 representatives from both local and Chinese enterprises.
