CECCM 2025 Annual Dinner Held Successfully in Kuala Lumpur

On 23 January 2026, the China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (CECCM) successfully hosted its 2025 Annual Dinner, themed “Advancing Together, Building Shared Success”, at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The Annual Dinner brought together government representatives, business leaders, chamber members, and media partners to review past achievements and exchange views on future cooperation.

The Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, conveyed a congratulatory message to the CECCM 2025 Annual Dinner, affirming the Chamber’s long-standing role as a bridge between Chinese enterprises and Malaysia’s economic development. He commended CECCM for facilitating the integration of Chinese-funded enterprises into the local economy, promoting responsible business practices, and supporting sustainable growth.

In his welcome address, Mr. Ni Qingjiu, President of CECCM, reviewed the CECCM key initiatives and achievements in 2025, highlighting progress in economic and trade cooperation, corporate social responsibility, and people-to-people exchanges. He noted that in 2026, CECCM will continue to strengthen its role as a platform for dialogue and cooperation, working with stakeholders to pursue mutual benefit and shared success.

H.E. Ouyang Yujing, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Malaysia, spoke highly of CECCM’s work over the past year. He noted that under the strategic guidance of leaders from both countries, China–Malaysia relations have achieved new progress, with bilateral economic and trade cooperation remaining resilient and dynamic. The Ambassador recognized CECCM’s important role in uniting members, serving enterprises, promoting exchanges, and supporting the implementation of bilateral cooperation outcomes, and encouraged the Chamber to continue guiding Chinese enterprises in Malaysia to innovate and grow.

YB Loke Siew Fook , Minister of Transport of Malaysia, highlighted CECCM’s contribution in facilitating business exchanges, promoting investment implementation, and supporting enterprises in better understanding the local business environment. Looking ahead, he encouraged Chinese enterprises to further advance localisation, green transition, and sustainable development, and called for continued collaboration between the government and the business community to foster a stable, open, and competitive investment environment.

During the Annual Dinner, the Introduction Ceremony of the Report on the Achievements of Chinese Enterprises in Malaysia’s Green Development and Digital Economy (2024–2025) was held. The report systematically documents and objectively presents the long-term contributions of Chinese enterprises in Malaysia, with particular emphasis on green transformation, digital economy development, industrial upgrading, and local employment creation. It provides an authoritative reference for the public to better understand the development of Chinese enterprises in Malaysia.

Commemorative souvenirs were presented to YB Loke and Dato’ Sri Tiong King Sing and Mr Chan Ming Kai, the political secretary of Prime Minister as a gesture of appreciation and friendship.
The Annual Dinner featured the launch ceremony of the Sabah Working Committee and the integration ceremony of the Northern Malaysia Working Committee.

The Annual Dinner also marked key milestones in CECCM’s organizational development. The Sabah Working Committee, officially established on 8 January 2026, brings together enterprises from sectors including construction, photovoltaic investment and manufacturing, property development, education, machinery manufacturing, building materials trading, and aquaculture. Its establishment signifies the further extension of CECCM’s service network to East Malaysia and represents an important step in supporting the coordinated development of Chinese enterprises in Sabah.

The Northern Malaysia Working Committee, centred in Penang and serving Penang, Perak, Kedah, and Perlis, was formally integrated into CECCM in 2025. Established in 2016, the Working Committee currently comprises over 40 member enterprises and has grown into an important platform for exchange and cooperation among Chinese enterprises in Northern Malaysia. Over the years, it has actively facilitated engagement between enterprises, local governments, and business communities, contributing positively to bilateral economic cooperation, corporate compliance, and social responsibility.

CECCM presented its 2025 Annual Awards, recognising members as Excellence Member Award, Social Resposibility Award, Practice Recognition Award, and Rising Star.

 

The Annual Dinner showcased the achievements and confidence of Chinese enterprises in Malaysia, reflecting their long-term commitment to development.

The Annual Dinner was attended by YB Loke, Minister of Transport of Malaysia; H.E. Ouyang Yujing, Ambassador of China to Malaysia; and Mr. Ni Qingjiu, President of CECCM. Also present were Mr. Chan Ming Kai, Political Secretary to the Prime Minister of Malaysia; Tan Sri Dato Low Kian Chuan, Senator and Chairman of the Malaysia–China Business Council; state executive councillors, representatives from Malaysian government agencies including MIDA, MATRADE leaders of chambers and associations, academics, and media representatives.More than 620 guests, including representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia, Malaysian government departments, partner organisations, media, and CECCM member enterprises, gathered for the Annual Dinner.

The successful hosting of the 2025 CECCM Annual Dinner reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to advancing cooperation, strengthening partnerships, and promoting sustainable and high-quality development of Chinese enterprises in Malaysia.
