“Forging Partnerships for Shared Prosperity and a Collaborative Future” CECCM 2024 Annual Dinner Grandly Held

On January 9, 2025, the China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (CECCM) successfully held its Annual Board of Directors Meeting and Members’ Assembly, where members highly praised CECCM’s achievements over the past year.

Following the meeting, the 2024 Annual Dinner was held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur in a festive and grand atmosphere.

The event was attended by Minister of Transport of Malaysia, YB Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia, H.E. Ouyang Yujing, and the President of China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia, Mr. Ni Qingjiu, who delivered keynote speeches. Other notable attendees included Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, YB Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, Political Secretary of YAB Prime Minister of Malaysia, Mr. Chan Ming Kai. More than 400 attendees, including representatives from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia, various Malaysian government departments, friendly associations, local media, and Chinese enterprise members, gathered for the annual dinner. It featured a festive theme of red and gold for the Lunar New Year, adorned with traditional Chinese elements such as lanterns, Chinese knots, and Spring Festival couplets, creating an atmosphere of celebration, harmony, and grandeur.

 

President Ni Qingjiu delivered the welcome speech, marking the start of the annual dinner. He summarized CECCM’s 2024 achievements in three key areas: economic cooperation, social responsibility, and cultural exchange. He emphasized CECCM’s commitment to continuing its role as a bridge, fostering cooperation and mutual success in 2025.

 

H.E. Ouyang Yujing expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Malaysian government for its continued support and assistance. He praised CECCM’s accomplishments during the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations and encouraged entrepreneurs and stakeholders from both nations to overcome challenges together with mutual trust and collaboration. He highlighted the milestone of Malaysia-China trade surpassing USD 200 billion in 2024, with China maintaining its position as Malaysia’s largest trading partner for the 16th consecutive year. He encouraged CECCM to seize new opportunities and lead Chinese enterprises toward even greater achievements in their respective fields.

 

YB Anthony Loke Siew Fook noted the historical significance of 2024 as the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations. He acknowledged the remarkable achievements driven by deep cooperation and trust between the two nations. He emphasized Malaysia’s commitment to promoting a green investment strategy, focusing on renewable energy and low-carbon infrastructure development. Recognizing China’s leadership in green technology. He expressed hope for strengthened collaboration in sustainable development areas, such as renewable energy investment, eco-friendly technology innovation, and emission reduction. He concluded by commending CECCM’s contributions and extending best wishes for the Year of the Snake, wishing everyone happiness and well-being.

 

The presentation of commemorative gifts and group photos brought the first wave of excitement during the evening.

 

The annual dinner also recognized outstanding member companies with awards, including the 2024 “Outstanding Contribution Award”, “Practice Recognition Award”, and “Excellence Member Award” honors. Several member companies received accolades for their contributions.

The evening’s program featured vibrant cultural performances, awards ceremonies, and a lucky draw, bringing wave after wave of excitement. Amid a warm and joyous atmosphere, it  concluded successfully.
