From November 9 to November 10, 2024, the China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (CECCM) successfully organized the MCC Cup Badminton Friendship Tournament, hosted by MCC Overseas (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. The event brought together 16 teams representing Chinese enterprises from diverse industries, with 114 participants actively competing over two days. The tournament not only showcased the athletic talents of employees from Chinese enterprises but also fostered camaraderie and exchanges among participants.
Opening Ceremony
The opening ceremony was graced by Lin Shiguang, Minister-Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia; Ni Qingjiu, President of CECCM; and Li Anwei, President of CECCM’s Construction Contractors Subcommittee and a CECCM board member. In their opening remarks, the dignitaries emphasized the significance of strengthening bonds through friendly competition, celebrating teamwork, and adding vitality to corporate culture.
The ceremony commenced with an inaugural serve by the dignitaries, marking the start of the tournament. Teams marched into the arena with great enthusiasm, creating a lively and vibrant atmosphere that reflected the energy and dedication of Chinese enterprises.
Tournament Highlights
Participants displayed remarkable skills, teamwork, and perseverance throughout the tournament. Their performance embodied the spirit of health, vitality, and determination.
The award ceremony was attended by Minister-Counselor Lin Shiguang, First Secretary Zang Wenbo of the Chinese Embassy, CECCM President Ni Qingjiu, CECCM board member Li Anwei, MCC Overseas (M) Sdn Bhd Director Huang Baocai, and Wang Xiaolei, a representative from Sunward International Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd. Together, they presented trophies and medals to the winning teams:
- Champion: Alliance Steel (M) Sdn Bhd
Alliance Steel secured the championship with outstanding skills and teamwork, demonstrating exceptional unity and strength throughout the tournament.
- Runner-Up: Dunham-Bush Industries Sdn Bhd
Dunham-Bush impressed with their steady performance and tactical agility, making it to the finals and showcasing their resilience and competitive spirit.
- Third Place (Tie): Bank of China (Malaysia) Bhd and CICET (M) Corporation Sdn Bhd
Both teams exhibited extraordinary talent and unwavering determination in the third-place match, ultimately sharing the honor.
