On 23 January 2026, the China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (CECCM) held its 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Committee Re-Election at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, with over 100 member representatives in attendance.
H.E. Ouyang Yujing, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Malaysia, and Minister-Counsellor for Economic and Commercial Affairs Mr. Sun Shuqing attended the meeting. In his remarks, Ambassador Ouyang reviewed key developments in China-Malaysia relations in 2025, including President Xi Jinping’s state visit and subsequent high-level exchanges, which further strengthened bilateral cooperation in trade, technology, digital economy and other sectors.
He commended CECCM and its members for their active engagement, support for diplomatic initiatives, and contributions to business and social development. He encouraged Chinese-funded enterprises to strengthen innovation, accelerate green and digital transformation, enhance competitiveness, and deepen collaboration with local stakeholders to achieve sustainable growth.
During the meeting, President Ni Qingjiu presented the 2025 Work Report, and Treasurer Yang Zhijun delivered the 2024 Audited Financial Report. The AGM was chaired by Secretary-General Zhou Jiayi.
In accordance with the Constitution and under the principles of fairness, impartiality and transparency, members elected a new Committee Members comprising 39 Chinese enterprises. Mr. Ni Qingjiu was re-elected as President, Mr. Zhou Jiayi continues as Secretary-General, and Mr. Yang Zhijun continues as Treasurer.
In his closing remarks, President Ni expressed appreciation for members’ trust and reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to strengthening its platform role, enhancing member services, and contributing to the sustained development of China-Malaysia cooperation.
