Bintulu, February 14, 2025 – The China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (CECCM) held a donation ceremony to support post-disaster recovery efforts in Bintulu. A total of RM100,000 was donated to the Bintulu Disaster Management Committee (BDMC) to aid in reconstruction efforts and assist affected residents in rebuilding their lives. This initiative reflects CECCM and its member companies’ strong commitment to social responsibility and community support.
The donation ceremony took place at New Century Hotel in Bintulu, attended by distinguished guests, including Deputy Resident of Bintulu, Tuan Abang Zainuddin bin Haji Abang Turkey, Administrative Officer Puan Sharpini binti Daud, Special Affairs Officer from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture and Bintulu MP’s Office, Mr. Kong Qi Chen, Director of Bintulu People’s Service Centre, Mr. Wong Ching Feng, Chairman of CECCM Sarawak Working Committee, Mr. Jia Yunjian, and representatives from various government agencies and community organizations.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Jia Yunjian highlighted that Chinese enterprises have been deeply rooted in Sarawak for many years, not only contributing to economic development but also actively supporting local communities. He emphasized that this donation is just the beginning, and CECCM, along with its members, will continue to extend assistance to help Bintulu recover as quickly as possible.
Deputy Resident Tuan Abang Zainuddin expressed his sincere appreciation to CECCM for their timely support, acknowledging that beyond financial aid, this donation brings hope and encouragement to the affected communities.
“In times of adversity, true friendship shines through. Together, we can build a stronger, more resilient Bintulu. We believe that with collective efforts, the community will soon overcome this challenge and move towards a brighter future,” he said.
