CECCM and Nanjing University Hosted Economic Discussion

In July 2024, Professor Zheng Jianghuai, Dean of the School of Economics at Nanjing University, led a research delegation in a dialogue with the China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (CECCM). Vice President Ding Qian briefed the delegation on the Chamber’s activities and discussed the current investment landscape for Chinese companies in Malaysia, opportunities arising from the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), and the prospects of China-Malaysia economic cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Dean Zheng spoke on the Belt and Road Initiative’s role in economic development and shared findings from the research project “Study on Chinese Economic Development and Investment Experiences in Belt and Road Countries.” Students raised questions about policy differences between China and Malaysia, as well as topics concerning the automotive and new energy sectors, leading to an in-depth exchange of views.
