On January 26, 2024, the China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce(referral as CECCM) held its 2023 Annual Meeting at the Shangri-La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. The newly appointed President, Ni Qingjiu, delivered a speech expressing gratitude for the contributions of all members and outlined the future development of CECCM.
Tribute and Gratitude
President Ni Qingjiu extended special thanks to H.E. Ouyang Yujing, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Malaysia; Minister Counsellor of the Economic and Commercial Office at the Embassy of China in Malaysia, Mr Sun Shuqiang and Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) Malaysia, YB Liew Chin Tong, as well as all guests who have supported the CECCM. He emphasized CECCM’s vital role in fostering friendly relations and economic exchanges between China and Malaysia, and highlighted the achievements and contributions of China Communications Construction Company (M) Sdn Bhd including major projects such as the East Coast Rail Link, the TRX Central Park in Kuala Lumpur, and the Kuala Lumpur Metro Line 2. He underscored the company’s efforts in integrating into the local community, supporting education and employment, and serving as a testament to the friendship between China and Malaysia.
New Mission and Commitment
As the new President, Ni Qingjiu expressed his honor and sense of responsibility towards his new position and committed to giving his all. He proposed plans to strengthen China-Malaysia friendship and cooperation through organizing various activities focused on the needs of the members. President Ni also highlighted that 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, which presents a significant opportunity to enhance bilateral relations.
Pragmatic Measures
In his future work, President Ni Qingjiu outlined several key areas, including establishing good communication mechanisms with Malaysian government departments, cooperating with local friendly associations and business organizations, encouraging business matchmaking between Chinese and Malaysian enterprises, and collaborating with Malaysian universities to cultivate talent and promote technological innovation. Furthermore, he emphasized that the CECCM would play a more active role in social welfare and charitable activities.
Acknowledgements and Outlook
President Ni Qingjiu expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Ouyang Yujing, Counselor Sun Shuqiang, and Deputy Minister YB Liew Chin Tong for their past support and assistance, especially in promoting China-Malaysia economic and trade relations. He also specially thanked the Honorary President Zhang Min and the previous committee for their contributions to the CECCM. He stated that the CECCM would further improve its development model, enhance service levels, and create more opportunities for its members.
