On November 29, 2023, the China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (CECCM) participated in the opening ceremony of the Changsha International Construction Equipment Exhibition Southeast Asia Sub-Exhibition (CICEE SEA 2023) at the Kuala Lumpur International Trade Exhibition Center (MITEC). Themed ‘New Generation of High-end, Intelligent, and New-energy Construction Machinery,’ the exhibition marked a significant stride in fostering collaboration between Malaysia and China in the construction machinery sector. The CECCM played a pivotal role in coordinating the participation of its construction division members, thereby enhancing industry interaction and networking opportunities.

During the opening ceremony, Mr. Ni Qingjiu, the Vice Chairman of CECCM and General Manager of China Communications Construction Company (M) Sdn Bhd, delivered an insightful speech. He expressed his appreciation for the invitation and highlighted the crucial role of CECCM in strengthening China-Malaysia economic and trade relations since its inception in 2002. Mr. Ni Qingjiu pointed out the successful integration of Chinese-funded enterprises in Malaysia and their collaborative development, underscoring the mutual benefits achieved.
He also shed light on the significant contributions of China Communications Construction Company (M) Sdn Bhd in major engineering projects, including the East Coast Rail Link, the Second Penang Bridge, and the Kuala Lumpur Metro Line 2. The company’s dedication to market expansion and social responsibility was emphasized. Furthermore, Ni Qingjiu noted the deepening ties in engineering machinery between the two nations under the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative. He observed the growing trend of Chinese enterprises investing and establishing operations in Malaysia, highlighting the potential and future prospects of the Malaysian engineering machinery market.
Mr. Ni Qingjiu encouraged Chinese-funded enterprises to elevate the quality of their products and services, thereby fostering economic and cultural exchanges between China and Malaysia.
